Prepare to Be Outraged. Alec Just Beat The Wrap…

It goes without saying that Alec Baldwin's unintentional shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the "Rust" set has left her loved ones in a great deal of sorrow and pain.

Although Baldwin has expressed regret and accepted responsibility for his acts, it is still unclear why he hasn't been charged with a crime. That someone can accidentally take another person's life and escape punishment is an utter scandal.

The lack of charges against Baldwin is indicative of the injustices in our legal system. It's difficult to believe Hutchins wouldn't have been charged if the situation had been reversed and Baldwin had unintentionally been shot.

Baldwin's famous status and fortune appear to have protected him from the repercussions of his conduct. It serves as a sharp reminder that those in positions of authority frequently receive preferential treatment from the legal system and that, in contrast, the lives of regular people are frequently undervalued.

A tragic illustration of this fact is the lack of justice for Hutchins and her family.

TMZ reported Baldwin just took to Instagram, posting a pic of his wife Hilaria with the caption, "I owe everything I have to this woman. (and to you, Luke)" ... a shoutout to Nikas, his attorney.

Alec Baldwin has been vindicated in the "Rust" shooting case ... at least criminally, because the New Mexico prosecutors will drop the involuntary manslaughter case against him ... sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ.
We're told Baldwin has been informed the case against him is over.

Attorneys Alex Spiro and Luke Nikas were expected to wage legal war in less than 2 weeks ... but the D.A. blinked in a big way.

Frankly, it makes a lot of sense. The D.A. has charged armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed with involuntary manslaughter, presumably because she's the expert, so it doesn't make a whole lot of sense why an actor would double-check her work.

Beyond that, although Baldwin is an executive producer on the movie, he's not the one making day-to-day decisions.

The case against Baldwin will be dismissed without prejudice, meaning it could be filed in the future, but that seems to be little more than a face-saving move by the D.A.

In the end, it is obvious that Halyna Hutchins and her loved ones were let down by the legal system. Although Baldwin may not have faced legal consequences for his acts, it's crucial to keep in mind that accountability is not limited to the legal system.

No amount of wealth or fame will ease Baldwin's burden of having to live with the knowledge that his actions resulted to the death of an innocent person.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Hutchins' family and friends at this trying time, and we pray that this tragedy will spur significant reform in the entertainment sector
to stop future occurrences of this kind.
