During Jill Biden's speech at the Reagan Institute Summit on Education in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, May 25, things didn't quite go as she had hoped when the crowd gave her a rather lukewarm response.
She began by expressing, "I've had the opportunity to visit states across the political spectrum, both red and blue, and what I've discovered is that the values that unite us are far greater than the divisions that separate us." There was a momentary pause, and then, perhaps in an attempt to solicit some applause, Jill awkwardly interjected, "And, um, I thought you might clap for that."
Unfortunately, her plea only managed to elicit a lackluster response from the audience.
This incident reminded many of the cringe-worthy moment when Jeb Bush had to implore his own crowd to "please clap!" during one of his speeches.

Clearly, people aren't buying what Jill and her half-dead husband are trying to sell.
