A Seguin, Texas resident and her family, who have been faithful patrons of Taco Tejano in for 15 long years, were recently denied entry. The reason? The restaurant claimed that her children were "too messy."
Sounds like an odd reason...
My San Antonio reported that it had been a few months since the family went to the Tex-Mex spot, which that day consisted of her 2- and 3-year-old daughters, her mother, and herself. She was getting her daughters out of the car while the grandmother was getting high chairs and a table ready.
As the woman and her children started to enter the restaurant, her mother came out and told her they aren't welcome in Taco Tejano.
"I have my two children in my hands and that's when she pulls me to the side and she's like, 'They said that we couldn't go inside and eat there because the kids make a mess and we don't clean up after them,"' she claimed.
Embarrassed by the situation, she said she couldn't bring herself to go inside and speak with the waitress, so she left and took her gripe to social media.
"Every time we go out to eat I clean up after my kids, my kids aren't throwing chairs around, they're not running around the restaurant or tossing food across the restaurant—that's not what is happening," she wrote.
Oh my goodness, children can be quite messy, can't they? It's not uncommon for them to accidentally drop food or create a small mess. After all, their motor skills are still developing.
If this woman is telling the truth about cleaning up after her kids, then why is it such a big issue? It seems like this restaurant simply doesn't want to accommodate children, which may not be the wisest business decision considering many families enjoy dining out together.t.
