But one gutsy Indiana woman went ahead and showed up intoxicated for an interview to become a sheriff.
According to the Sheriff's Department, Nicole Sniadecki, a 39-year-old individual, attended a scheduled meeting regarding an employment inquiry, arriving shortly before 9 a.m.
During the conversation, Captain Jeff Snyder couldn't help but notice the unmistakable signs of intoxication in Sniadecki, like slurred speech and the smell of alcohol on her breath. Sniadecki didn't hold back and admitted to drinking alcohol that morning while driving to the Sheriff's Department.
Detective Lieutenant Les McFarland wasted no time and administered a certified breath test, which revealed a staggering reading of .158, nearly double the legal limit.
Consequently, Nicole was promptly arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and taken to the Marshall County Jail. She was then given a cash bond of $1,500.
This isn't the old Wild West, Nicole...no one wants a drunk sheriff these days.
