US Vet Celebrating His 104th Birthday Credits Jim Beam and Jack Daniels for His Long Life

They tell you that if you want to live a long life, you should get plenty of sleep, don't smoke, eat healthily, and stay away from alcohol. Well, for one WWII air force veteran, he certainly did not abstain from the latter, and he just finished celebrating his 104th birthday.

When Arthur Walters Jr. was asked what his secret was for living such a long and healthy life, he said: "I have two good friends: Jim Beam and Jack Daniels."

Additionally, Arthur is not on any regular medication. How does this man do it?!

Asked whether drinking the two bourbons helped him live a long life, Walters simply replied: “Well, they've helped me along."

In his 104 years, Walters has seen a lot.

At age 22, equipped with his pilot’s license, Walters enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in the 96th Bomb Group in World War II. Today, he’s the only living crew member from his squadron, according to CNN.
Striking a serious note, Walters offered some advice to younger generations.

If there is something you want, you have to be willing to work for it, he said, adding that if you fail a few times, just “get back up and get back to it.”

What an incredible guy, right?

We thank you for your service, Arthur, and we look forward to cracking open a bottle of whiskey in your honor.
