Entire Police Department Resigns

Following groups like BLM consistently criticizing and demanding an end to the police, cops are having a tougher time doing their job. A whole police squad in Minnesota has basically said, "We're done."

The mayor and city council of the tiny town of Goodhue, Minnesota, were completely shocked when their entire police crew walked away from their jobs. There's talk going around that these officers called it quits because of the push to defund the police and the generally bad opinion people have of officers after George Floyd's death.

From Resist The Mainstream:

The resignations have left city officials wondering how to ensure public safety. AllSides news reports that the police chief and one officer will remain on the force until August 23.

“I think we’re all a little bit blindsided by it, but we’re resilient and we’re going to move forward,” Goodhue Mayor Ellen Anderson Buck told Fox 9.

Josh Smith, the outgoing police chief reported he has no applicants to replace the exiting officers. On July 26, Smith reportedly told the city council: “I’ve called every PD around [to see if new applicants are available] …There’s nobody getting into the game.”

Smith added: “If you want to keep the PD … something needs to change dramatically and drastically, and it’s got to happen now.”

It's really scary to think that just two individuals are responsible for keeping an entire town safe.

Even though police officers in this country aren't flawless, a lot of folks don't fully realize the positive impact they bring. If these far-left groups keep pushing such overwhelmingly negative views about officers, Goodhue might just be one of many towns that end up without a police force.
