Zombie Bug Walking While Clearly Rotted and Dead Scares The Internet to Death

I gotta admit, I can't deal with bugs. I get that they're crucial for the whole ecosystem thing, but the mere sight of a creepy spider or a pesky house fly sets off my stress mode instantly.

And let me tell you, this viral video of a zombie bug is nightmare material for sure...

Dr. Samrat Gowda, an Indian Forest Service employee, shared a video on his Twitter account showcasing a bug that seems to be moving quite naturally, even though it's missing most of its internal organs. The officer said in the caption, "A neuro parasite has taken control of the brain of this dead insect and is making it walk........ zombie."

That's right, we've got zombie bugs now, folks.

According to National Geographic, "some parasites more or less turn their hosts into the walking dead. These masters of mind control manipulate their hosts from within, causing them to act in self-destructive ways that ultimately benefit the parasite."

I gotta say, this is seriously scary stuff. But you know what? There were some seriously funny comments on the video that totally brought some humor into the mix:

"Definitely should have passed on the Mexican dinner."

"What do they use their body juices for anyway?"

"How the government expect to see us after taking covid vaccine"

"Walking dead: housefly version"

"probably got his 7th booster"

"Me after Taco Bell"
