Lazy BLM Radical Who Won Des Moines Council Seat, Collected Paycheck and Healthcare, But Never Bothered to Show Up For Work

I seriously question many of our elected officials. While many of them work diligently for their constituents, there are undoubtedly a few bad apples in the bunch who prioritize  their public image and financial gain.

This was precisely the case in Des Moines, Iowa, where Indira Sheumaker, a radical supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement, was forced  to step down from her position on the city council after neglecting her duties for six months. To compound the issue, even during Sheumaker's prolonged absence, she made sure to receive her salary and use up all of her medical benefits.

Indira Sheumaker, the former city council member who self-identifies as a "queer feminine," didn't show up to any city council meetings or workshops since March 6, nor did she communicate her absence. Sheumaker was first elected to her seat in 2021 and served constituents in Ward 1, according to Des Moines Register.

Randy Sheumaker, Indira's father, hand-delivered his daughter's resignation letter to the city on Aug. 31, which was filed with the city clerk's office, the outlet reports.

Mayor Frank Cownie said in a statement that the city will take the proper steps to fill the vacant seat and that they "wish Ms. Sheumaker the best and appreciate Ms. Sheumaker's time on the council."

According to Indira's father, Sheumaker had been reportedly hospitalized in April, but he didn't go into specifics, the Register reports. Sheumaker has stated in the past the she suffers from clinical anxiety and depression, which increased during COVID-19 isolation. In 2022, Sheumaker also took a leave of absence to focus on her mental health.

I love how anxiety and prioritizing "mental health" can  now serve as legitimate grounds for taking a six-month break from work, while still enjoying all the associated benefits.

I'm sorry, but in my opinion, this is the kind of outcome that results  from electing an individual whose sole focus is on identity politics. They have no idea how to actually carry out their job duties, they only know how to sell the public on a dream.
