It’s September and This Mom Already Cooked Most of Her Christmas Dinner

We all know those people who like to plan their big holiday meals days, maybe even weeks in advance, but how about three months?

A little overkill, right?

Well, one mother from the UK doesn't think so, as she's prepared basically all of her Christmas dinner, including some dessert, and has it all tucked away in her freezer, just waiting to be thawed out on the big day.

From The Mirror UK:

Mum-of-two Tahnee Beck loves to prepare in advance for the festive season, and always makes sure she's ahead of the game so she can enjoy spending time with her family. Cooking dishes for the Christmas dinner in advance means not only will she have an easier time on the day, she's also saved herself money.

Tahnee said: "I love Christmas - and a little prep helps me enjoy it even more. In the past I've been preoccupied with getting lunch ready and the day has passed me by. I'm now looking forward to a relaxed morning opening presents and not stressing about peeling potatoes."

The 33-year-old from Norfolk started cooking on September 16, and has prepared the meals for Christmas Eve, her Christmas cake and the veg for the big day. She has already made her Christmas Eve feast of meatballs with a sweet and sour sauce, and an orange and melon salad, whilst also stashing away her prepped Christmas Day dishes - a Christmas cake, mince pie filling, four kinds of cookies, and pre-prepared frozen red cabbage and apple, which cost her just £1.50.

By preparing early, she reckons it saves her money in the long run, as she estimates this would cost £8.55 for the same quantity at supermarket prices nearer the time - a saving of £7.05 on one dish. She also manages to do her Christmas shopping on Boxing Day the year before. She explained: "I just like to get all the work out the way so we can really enjoy Christmas."

Hitting the shops to bag bargains and discounted decorations, she will continue her shopping throughout the year, cashing in on sales, and calculates that she can get her shopping done for half the price when doing it in advance. The mum claims she's saved herself £5,000 in the last seven years.

Honestly, this isn't the worst idea.

The holidays are already stressful for some, and adding  a big elaborate dinner to the list of things to do on Christmas is anything but festive.
