Dolly Parton Always Has Kid Rock’s Back, Refuses to ‘Cancel’ Him

Dolly Parton never ceases to impress us, and this time she's given us yet another reason to appreciate her—this incident involves the indomitable Kid Rock.

Kid Rock, a friend of President Trump and Tucker Carlson, finds himself constantly in the crosshairs of those on the left who are bent on his cancellation.

But when the Hollywood Reporter sought to enlist Dolly in their crusade against Kid Rock, she didn't take the bait. Instead, she tackled the 'cancel culture' issue with her characteristic poise and grace, showing us all how it's done.

From Louder With Crowder:

Kid Rock is at a point in his career where the media is going to force anyone who works with him to justify it because he has "bad" political opinions. Dolly Parton is at a point where she doesn't care and bless the hearts of anyone who asks. Yet because she recorded a song with Rock for her new album, here we are.

Part of it concerns a controversy I missed a few months ago. Around the time of the Bud Light/Dylan Mulvaney brewhaha, Dolly released the details of her Rockstar album that is due out in a few weeks. The album is ridiculous. It's twenty-one songs of Dolly covering rock anthems. I won't list all the artists she worked with. I'll just say she reunited Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr to cover "Let It Be," and you can work your way down the list from there.
One of the songs has her dueting with Kid Rock. Rock, as you know, shot up cases of Bud Light once the partnership with the controversial titface performer was announced. Then he had nothing to say about it until he was caught drinking a Bud Light. But it was still enough for Twitter/X users to demand Dolly denounce working with him, which she did not do back in July.

In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, they brought up the "strong" response to the Kid Rock collab, but Dolly didn't bite.

Somebody was talking to me the other day, “How could you do this [song] with Kid?” I said, “Hey, just because I love you don’t mean I don’t love Kid Rock. Just because I love Kid Rock don’t mean I don’t love you.” I don’t condemn or criticize. I just accept and love.

It's refreshing to see someone like Dolly Parton who doesn't get swept up in the relentless whirlwind of cancel culture, where mobs with pitchforks metaphorically ransack reputations in their quest to “kill the beast." The irony, of course, is how these zealots perceive themselves as the heroes of their narratives. They have no clue that they’re the bad guys.

Once again, Dolly has shown us what it really means to be one of the "good guys." Her actions speak volumes about rising above the fray with grace and not kicking anyone, simply because they think differently than you.
