At 928mg of Caffeine Per Cup, This New Coffee Could Stop Your Heart

There's really no better way to kick-start your day than  with a nice, strong cup of coffee. However, this cup of joe is a true heart-stopper—literally. Drinking this abnormally strong coffee could potentially lead to cardiac issues.

The coffee is aptly named 'Death Wish' and contains 928mg  of caffeine per cup, more than double what you'll find in a normal brew.

From Oddity Central:

The title of ‘world’s strongest coffee’ has been attributed to various brands over the last decade. In 2013, we wrote about Death Wish, a blend that promised 200% the caffeine content of the average dark roast, and then there was Black Insomnia Coffee, a brand that boasted a caffeine content of 702 mg per 12-ounce cup. But now we have another title holder, and this one is going to be tough to beat. Launched in 2016, Biohazard Coffee has established itself as the strongest coffee money can buy, with a caffeine content that makes it barely safe to consume.

The Food and Drug Administration recommends up to 400mg of caffeine per day, for adults with no increased risk factors, like heart disease, also mentioning that rapidly consuming around 1,200mg of caffeine is enough to induce poisoning-like symptoms such as seizures. With a caffeine content of 928mg per 12-ounce cup, Biohazard Coffee is definitely a risky beverage to consume, especially if your body isn’t used to caffeine.

“We wanted a good jolt of energy for our long days without having to sacrifice the taste,” Biohazard co-founder Yonatan Pinhasov said about creating the world’s strongest coffee. “After countless hours of drinking horrible-tasting coffee that promised high energy levels, we decided to take it into our own hands. We thought about all the other people like us – self-starters, parents with long days, grad students, the 18-hour day people…how could we make this better for everyone?”
