Rep.-Elect New York Republican George Santos appeared on television for the first time since the New York Times exposed his lies about his background. Santos has denied being Jewish and has lied about his educational and professional experiences. As seen on Tucker Carlson Tonight on Tuesday Santos was the subject of Fox News guest host Tulsi Gabbard’s rigorous questioning regarding his many lies tonight.
Santos stated he attended Baruch College, worked at Goldman Sachs and Citigroup, and is Jewish. On Monday, an interview with Santos appeared in the New York Post in which he admitted to not having worked or graduating from these institutions. ” And he said, “I said I was ‘Jew-ish,’ not Jewish.”
Former congresswoman begins Fox News interview with “What does the ‘word’ integrity mean to you?”
Having “integrity” is crucial, Santos said. “And, as I told the New York Post…”
However, what does this signify is a common question. Gabbard cut in. “Just what does that mean?” The practical significance of a word’s definition is why we care so much about it.
He said, “It is to carry yourself in an honorable way.” And I did something wrong. Moreover, I believe that people are fallible and that everyone makes errors, Tulsi. Everyone can look in the mirror and acknowledge they messed up sometimes. I had the guts to say it on national television in front of the entire country.
After being called a scam and a fake, Santos argued he is neither.
Gabbard shot back: “You see, Congressman-elect, having integrity involves really acting that way. However, this requires honesty and integrity. And if I were a resident of New York’s Third Congressional District right now, after the election has concluded and I’ve learned the truth about all the lies you’ve told—and I don’t mean a few exaggerations here and there.”
Do you not feel any sense of shame? Do you not feel any guilt?
I can say the same thing about the Democrats and the party, Santos said Tulsi. Joe Biden has been deceiving the American public for four decades. The United States of America is led by him as president. Democrats back him up 100 percent. “Do they not know any shame?
Democratic Party was not the focus of the interview, Gabbard said.

The Democratic Party is not at issue here, she said. This is about how you connect with the people who sent you into battle on their behalf, the author writes.
Gabbard shifted the conversation to Santos’ claims that he is Jewish, referencing a letter that Santos’ campaign released this year.
Are you Jewish? she probed. Our office has a letter from your campaign that begins, “As a proud American Jew, I’ve gone to Israel multiple times for educational, business, and leisure trips. You identified yourself as “a proud American Jew” in your letter. To put it another way: “How do you account for that?”
Santos argued, “My heritage is Jewish.” I was brought up in a very devout Catholic family.
“Everyone wants to nitpick at me,” he moaned.
Then, Gabbard disputed Santos’ allegation to the Post that he had only “embellished” his credentials.
She warned him, “You don’t really appear to be taking this seriously.” “You’ve lied, said you’re sorry, and admitted to making mistakes. She emphasized that a resume should not be embellished with lies.
‘Look, I agree with what you’re saying,’ Santos said. We can argue about my professional experience and my time spent at companies like Goldman Sachs.

How open to debate is this? Then she fired back at him. Or, “Is that simply not true?”
He insisted, “No, it’s not false at all.” It can be argued either way.
Following this, Santos detailed his purported work for a private equity firm that he claimed done business with Goldman Sachs and Citigroup.
When asked what he did as vice president of LinkBridge Investors, he responded, “That’s what I was doing when I worked with these firms and many other firms,” adding, “It’s really bad that everyone wants to brand me a liar.”
Gabbard informed the newly elected representative, “Congressman-Elect Santos, we’ve given you a lot of time.” New Yorkers deserve the third of the promised time. It’s tough to believe they’d buy into your justifications when you’re not even willing to disclose the full extent of your dishonesty to them.
