A record-low 39% of Americans now have confidence in how the federal government handles international issues, a drop of nine percentage points from last year, and one of only a few times when that has happened. On a relative basis, there is low confidence in the three branches of the federal government. Although a majority of Americans (54%) trust the judiciary, this number is down 13 points from 2020.
