Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Is Going To New York And Wants Others To Join Her

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of the Georgia Republicans made the announcement on social media, saying she would be traveling to New York the next week to protest the indictment of former President Donald Trump.

Greene tweeted, "I'm traveling to New York on Tuesday." "We MUST denounce the unlawful witch hunt!"

Donald Trump is the first former president to be charged with a crime after a Manhattan grand jury decided to indict him earlier this week for his alleged involvement in a payment to Stormy Daniels in 2016.

Several of Trump's supporters have defended him over the last few days, saying that this accusation was motivated by politics. In yet another tweet, Greene urged New Yorkers to don their MAGA caps. "We Shall uphold President Trump's constitutional rights and oppose the tyrants. We'll talk again on Tuesday."

Republicans Lauren Boebert of Colorado and Kari Lake, a former candidate for governor of Arizona, along with other candidates and potential candidates for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024, such as Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Ron DeSantis, have all come out in support of Trump on this issue.

According to a press release from the Trump campaign, the former president "raised over $4 million in the 24 hours following Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's unprecedented political persecution of the President and blatant interference in the 2024 election against the leading Republican presidential candidate."
