Here’s Four Famous Serial Killers Who Have Appeared on Game Shows

It turns out that serial killers, just like the rest of us, enjoy appearing on televison and winning fabulous prizes and cash.

As reported by Cracked, there have been four notorios serial killers who have appeared on famous game shows like Jeopardy!, What's my Line? and a couple of others.

What's interesting is that some of these criminal contestants were actually identified by authorities from their appearances, while some actually used the game show as a way to simply fuel their ego.

Check out the list:

1. Edward Wayne Edwards

Edwards' criminal history was well known to the producers of What's My Line? and To Tell the Truth when they casted him. It was actually his main selling point as a contestant. After nearly a decade of gas station robberies in the 1950s and 1960s, Edwards spent almost a decade on the FBI's Most Wanted List. He later wrote a best-selling book about his rehabilitation in prison and rose to fame as a motivational speaker.

2. Rodney Alcala, aka The Dating Game Killer

Alcala wasn't appearing on game shows for the money, unlike most game-show killers. So you'd think he'd try to keep a low profile during his 1970s killing spree that claimed the lives of at least eight women and one girl, but the allure of the spotlight was apparently too great. He had already murdered six women by the time he made an appearance on The Dating Game back in 1978.

3. Paul Curry

Curry was a two-time winner of Jeopardy! back in 1989 and he's most famous for killing his Linda by poisoning in order to collect on a life insurance policy. But this wasn't his first rodeo, as he tried to pull the same stunt with his previous wife but was unable to collect on that insurance policy.

4. John Cooper, aka The Bullseye Killer

Cooper is famous for appearing on the British gameshow called Bullseye back in 1989, which is also what gave him his nickname of "The Bullseye Killer." Ironically, it was his appearance on the show that helped authorities identify him in the late 2000's.
