Proof of Time Travel? Woman Appears to be Holding an iPhone in 150-Year-Old Painting

There’s a really interesting painting from 1860 that has everyone buzzing. As a matter of fact, this painting keeps going viral online for “time travel” rumors.

So, what is it about this old painting that has everyone convinced it’s proof of time travel? Well, it’s because of the girl in the picture.

Many people think she’s doing something that proves time travel is real. But hold on, don’t go looking for time portals just yet…

The Mirror reported that A 150-year-old painting of a woman has left art lovers baffled as she appears to be playing with an iPhone while walking along in the middle of the picture.

The Expected One, which Ferdinand George Waldmüller painted in the 1860s and now viewed with modern eyes, looks like she is completely engrossed with the item she is holding.

The woman walks, seemingly disconnected from the world around her, as a man crouches clutching a flower in the foreground.

She walks in the sun while he kneels in the shade.

The image first rose to internet stardom in 2017 while it hung at the Neue Pinakothek Museum in Munich, Germany, with people joking she was ignoring the bloke because she was probably swiping on Tinder.

And while many believe this is a “sign” of time travel, the gallery says the image actually shows the woman focusing on her hymn book.

Well, perhaps that’s true, but it was definitely a “sign” of things to come - humans walking, not looking up, staring down at a small contraption in their hands.
