Popular General Hospital Star Dies Too Young

I'm not sure if any of you were fans of General Hospital during the iconic Luke/Laura/Bobbie era, but those were undoubtedly the show's golden days and a great time for soap operas in general.

Jackie Zeman portrayed the beloved character Bobbie Spencer from 1977 to 2010. She made a comeback in 2013 and has been actively involved in her work ever since.

It's truly disheartening to share the news of her passing at the age of only 70, which feels much too young. Her remarkable run on the show will be remembered fondly.

Yahoo News reported that Jacklyn Zeman, the actress best known for her decades-long tenure playing Bobbie Spencer on the venerable ABC soap “General Hospital,” died Wednesday of undisclosed causes. She was 70.
“General Hospital” executive producer Frank Valentini made the news public Wednesday night.

“On behalf of our @GeneralHospital family, I am heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved @JackieZeman. Just like her character, the legendary Bobbie Spencer, she was a bright light and true professional that brought so much positive energy with her to work,” Valentini wrote.

“Jackie will be greatly missed, but her positive spirit will always live on with our cast and crew. We send our heartfelt sympathy to her loved ones, friends, and family, especially her daughters Cassidy and Lacey,’ he continued.

What a shame, a day time legend is lost. We send her family lots of love and prayers.
