Last summer, Katie Hannaford, a 37-year-old resident of Basildon, Essex, found herself in an embarrassing situation when her eight-year-old child persuaded her to participate in a run.
Amusing footage captured the moment when Katie positioned herself in the third lane from the left, only to unexpectedly face-plant onto the ground during the race.
To her dismay, her dress ended up lifted over her head, exposing her underwear to the entire crowd.
The Daily Mail:
'I’ve promised my girls I’ll never do another 'parents' race' ever again,' revealed the mother.
'There was a parents' dance recently at my daughter's dance competition. They announced it, the girls looked at me and said "No, mum". I agreed to give it a miss!'
Asked if she'll be participating in this year's sports day, Katie said: 'Absolutely not, as much as it was good fun I think my running days are over!'
She also discussed her daughter's reaction to the aftermath of her fall, with Katie revealing: 'She thought it was funny. She said everyone was talking about it at school but it was good fun.'
A few days after the footage went viral, Katie revealed she'd received 500 messages from suitors from all over the world, and that she and her children get recognised in their local town, in their Tesco and online.
After come to terms with the fact her derrière became a sensation, Katie admitted to The Mirror that she was soaking up the attention.
While this incident would be incredibly humiliating for most people, it's admirable to witness Katie's ability to maintain a healthy sense of humor in such a situation.
