Perhaps they have come to realize the level of criticism directed towards them, or maybe they still value their integrity, but reports suggest that the couple is no longer interested in capitalizing on their former royal status.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have decided to cease their involvement in creating revealing Netflix documentaries, publishing memoirs, and participating in interviews that criticize the Royal Family. Insiders claim that they have "nothing left to say."
From Daily Mail:
More than three years after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to ditch life in the Royal Family for pastures new in California, the pair will take a step back and remain behind the scenes of any future Netflix production.
The drastic change of direction follows their bombshell interview with OprahWinfrey in 2021, a six-part Netflix docuseries called Harry & Meghan released last year and the Prince's tell-all memoir Spare.
These included blistering attacks on members of the Royal Family, including King Charles, Queen Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales as well as the wider institution.
Now the couple plan to take on roles further away from the glare of the public eye.
'That period of their life is over — as there is nothing left to say', one source told The Sun.
The duke and duchess have been mocked on a number of occasions following their very public revelations.
This included being featured on an episode of South Park where they were relentlessly ridiculed.
It depicted the pair as the Prince and Princess of Canada - a young royal couple who loudly beg for privacy while drawing attention to themselves.
Perhaps there's no paycheck in the world big enough to justify being a complete laughing stock.
Although it is odd that we're hearing this now, as not too long ago it was reported that Meghan and Harry had even more "juicy details" to share about the Royal family.
