FL Mom Says She Choked Her Son to Death to Spare Him from 'The Devil'

According to court documents, a mother from Florida, who believed she was God, reportedly admitted to strangling her 13-year-old son. Her motive, as stated in the records, was to protect him from the influence of evil forces.

The incident took place in Osceola County, and the mother, named Jasmin Kennedy, was apprehended on Monday after strangling her son on his bed at their residence.

From The New York Post:

The 37-year-old mom called herself “Yahweh” — meaning “God” in Hebrew, according to the court records.

While in custody, Kennedy was asked by detectives if she knew why she was being interviewed.

Kennedy said “she was being questioned due to her sending her son home,” court documents obtained by WFTV stated.

When asked to clarify her comments about her son, Kennedy was quoted as saying that she “spared him from the devil.”

Detectives also noted that the mom-of-two called herself “Yahweh,” which is translated from Hebrew as “God.”

Kennedy is charged with premeditated first-degree murder, domestic battery by strangulation, aggravated child abuse and child neglect.

A judge on Tuesday ordered the woman held without bond.

It can't really get any more sinister than this.

For a parent to take their own child's life is already profoundly twisted, but resorting to strangulation takes this to an even more disturbing level.

This woman must be locked up, whether it's in a padded cell or behind steel bars.
