A 62-year-old Uber driver was brutally beaten by three women, one of whom was armed with a pipe, in a violent carjacking incident.
From Le Herrison News:
The 62-year-old driver had just reached near his home when he was confronted by three young females. The attackers physically assaulted him, forcibly taking his car keys, according to reports from FOX Chicago.
Surveillance footage captured the harrowing scene, showing the driver attempting to evade the attackers, only to be forcibly brought to the ground by two of them. Shockingly, a third assailant is seen striking him with a pipe.
In a statement to the news outlet, the victim, identified as Danxin Shi, recounted his ordeal, saying, “I parked my car and I walked out, and I started to walk toward the apartment, and three Black females jumped on me, held me, and grabbed my car key.”
Despite the severity of the attack, Mr. Shi declined medical attention at the scene. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the incident remains under investigation.
This incident further highlights the devastating rise in crime on Chicago's streets and certainly demonstrates that the city's attempts to defund the police are having some dark consequences.
