Turns Out Mathew Perry’s ‘Batman’ Posts Were Not What We Thought

Lately, there have been some pretty wild theories floating around about Matthew Perry and his "Mattman" posts on social media, all centered on the idea that they  might've been some sort of cry for help.

But the person who had the pleasure of sharing a meal with Perry just before his untimely passing flat-out rejects these conspiracy theories, explaining that they couldn't be further from the truth. According to her, Perry was just a bit of a nerd and a massive Batman fan, and his posts about the superhero were simply his way of showing love for the series – nothing deeper than that.

From TMZ:

Athenna Crosby, the mystery brunette spotted grabbing a meal with Matthew before he died, tells TMZ ... the "Friends" star was really into Batman -- even calling himself "Mattman" and his ride the Batmobile.

She says he was a playful guy in the months that she knew him ... and the conspiracy theory he was pushing subliminal messages about his safety by using the superhero reference is way off.

Athenna playfully chalks the "Mattman" posts up to Perry being a nerd and says fans jumping on the conspiracy train are definitely getting carried away.

As we reported, the 25-year-old model and entertainment reporter grabbed a bite to eatwith Matthew last Friday at the Hotel Bel-Air ... and said she was devastated to learn of his death just a day after seeing him.

Athenna doubles down on what we've been told already -- the actor was extremely optimistic and in great spirits leading up to his death ... and he even had projects lined up.

It's only natural for folks  to conjure up conspiracy theories when they're grappling with the shocking loss of someone like Perry.

However, maybe the best course of action is to simply honor his memory rather than delving into the realm of peculiar clues.
