Caught on surveillance video is a pretty intense robbery at a Florida nail salon. Picture this: a mother and son duo giving the salon owner a taste of the pistol-whipping action and throwing in a wild shot into the air.
From The Blaze:
Florida police say a violent robbery caught on video in front of a nail salon had been plotted by the mother of the suspect for over a month.
Yunet Sanchez is the owner of Champagne Nails in Hialeah, but she also sells jewelry at the store. On Sept. 16, she was leaving the business with a suitcase full of gold jewelry when she was violently robbed.
The robbery was caught on surveillance video.
The video shows a man wearing all black clothing and a facemask run up to Sanchez and grab the handle of the suitcase. When Sanchez refused to let go, he pistol whipped her several times and reportedly shot at least once in the air.
The man was able to get away with the woman's suitcase after climbing back into a white SUV before he and the driver sped off.
Police said the suitcase had about 1,300 pieces of jewelry that were worth about $800,000.
In October, police arrested 24-year-old Julian Flores and his mother 55-year-old Lourdes Diaz. The arrest report said that Sanchez identified Diaz as a frequent customer who would inquire about the jewelry but never buy anything.
It sounds like these two are indeed as thick as thieves.
Perhaps it's a case of the family that steals together, stays together?
