Tuesday night, after learning that Steve Bannon will soon be charged in New York for his alleged participation in scamming We Build the Wall charity donors, the former Trump White House advisor issued a lurid statement.
According to the Daily News, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office is poised to prosecute Bannon on Thursday with crimes that “parallel a federal fraud case that concluded when then-President Donald Trump on his final day in office pardoned longtime pal Bannon,” according to the article. According to a source close to the MAGA pundit, Bannon is anticipated to surrender on Thursday, according to the Daily News.
In April, two persons accused by the federal government with scamming donors together with Bannon pleaded guilty to the crimes after they were denied presidential pardons. Both men have admitted to conspiring to conduct wire fraud, and they now face a maximum sentence of 20 years in jail.
According to Audrey Strauss, the Manhattan U.S. attorney who announced the charges in August 2020, “The defendants defrauded hundreds of thousands of donors, capitalizing on their interest in funding a border wall to raise millions of dollars, under the false pretense that all of that money would be spent on construction.”
At the time of his arrest, Bannon was charged with money laundering and conspiracy to conduct wire fraud. According to a story at the time in Forbes, “the scheme’s organizers allegedly cheated their supporters, who donated more than $25 million for the cause, by siphoning money for their own personal use, with Bannon apparently taking more than $1 million of the proceeds.”
Alvin Bragg, the district attorney for Manhattan, has filed additional charges, which Bannon has denounced as “partisan political weaponization of the criminal justice system.”

He has also highlighted former President Donald Trump’s disproved claims that the 2020 presidential election was rigged.
“The SDNY attempted to remove me from the election in August 2020 by doing the exact same thing. Since it didn’t work back then, it won’t work today either. Bannon stated, “This is nothing more than the political partisan weaponization of the criminal justice system.
“I’m honored to be a major advocate for border security and the construction of a wall to defend our nation from illegal narcotics and vicious criminals. This time, the WarRoom show will be more important, intense, urgent, and larger, Bannon continued, once more mentioning his podcast.
