Biden Claims Dems Will Maintain Congressional Majorities In Midterm Elections

President Joe Biden projected that Democrats would maintain their congressional majorities in Tuesday’s midterm elections, defying both conventional sense and public polling.

In California, where he was speaking about semiconductors and supporting Rep. Mike Levin (D-CA), Biden assured reporters that Democrats will keep the House and increase their Senate majority.

Biden told a reporter, “I haven’t been in all the House races, but I think we’re going to keep the Senate and pick up a seat.” “I believe we will likely take the House. I believe that we will prevail.

Republicans just need to gain one further Senate seat and five additional House seats to take back control of both chambers.

This time, we’re going to prevail, Biden assured. Contrary evidence is provided by the president’s itinerary. He has visited Illinois, California, New Mexico, New York, and other places. The night before election day, he will be in Maryland. States are all blue.

This indicates that the rumored red wave may be affecting Democratic regions that supported Biden strongly two years ago. It might also be a sign of Biden’s poor job approval rating, which is just a little bit higher than 42% according to the RealClearPolitics polling average. That historically does not look good for Democrats.

After Roe v. Wade was overruled, Democrats, including the president and Vice President Kamala Harris, pushed voters to increase their party’s Senate majority by two or three seats in order to change the filibuster rules and enshrine federal abortion rights. The Cook Political Report predicted earlier on Friday that the Democrats’ best-case scenario was retaining the Senate 50-50 with Harris breaking ties.

Biden ignored the polling results and analyst predictions. So, he said, “I’m optimistic.” “I am, really.” Despite this, the delighted warrior seemed dissatisfied with the press treatment.

“I know you don’t believe it, but I believe our crowds are decent. Fairly fired up,” Biden replied. They are, even though you don’t write it that way.

Biden has claimed that Republicans will wreck the economy, undermine democracy, slash senior citizen programs, raise inflation, and undo his attempts to cut prescription medicine prices in the last days of the midterm election campaign.

He claimed, “I don’t know anyone who’s genuinely opposed to us bringing down medical prices, prescription medication prices, and all those other things.

The previous president Donald Trump and “MAGA Republicans” have been a significant campaign topic for Biden, who suggested Thursday night that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who would likely become the speaker if the GOP retakes the House, belonged to that group.

Only twice since the late 1930s had the incumbent party won the midterm elections: once after Republicans attempted to impeach President Bill Clinton and again after the 9/11 terrorist attacks unified the nation behind President George W. Bush.

Bush once had approval ratings of more than 90%, but in his second term, his popularity plummeted. For months, Biden hasn’t consistently polled above 50%.

Instead of viewing the midterm elections as a vote on his own administration, Biden has tried to redefine them as a contest between Democrats and Republicans.

On Thursday, Biden added, “You know, they say — everybody speaks about a referendum.” There will be no referendum. There is a decision to be made here between two very divergent conceptions of America.
