On Friday, officials in San Francisco revealed body camera footage from the October attack on Paul Pelosi, the husband of Democratic Representative Nancy Pelosi.
After a consortium of news sites filed a motion in San Francisco on January 11 demanding that the footage be made public, the judge granted their request.
In a pretrial hearing, prosecutors said that on October 28, a nudist activist who had broken into the Pelosi home in an attempt to kidnap the then-House speaker attacked Paul Pelosi. Prosecutors have named 42-year-old David DePape as the activist who attacked Paul Pelosi because he couldn’t find his wife.

DePape has entered a not guilty plea to all charges, both state and federal. On February 23, he will go before a state judge to schedule a trial date. Without posting bond, he remains in custody.
It was reported that police from San Francisco entered the Pelosi residence at about 2:30 a.m. local time on the night of the incident. According to the police, Pelosi and her attacker fought over a hammer before the attacker “violently” assaulted her.
The incident left Pelosi with “severe injuries to his right arm and hands,” but he underwent “successful surgery to heal a skull fracture,” as reported by a representative for Nancy Pelosi at the time.
DePape allegedly entered the residence while yelling, “Where’s Nancy?” in an official court document.
According to documents filed in court, DePape told responding officers that he “came here to have a little word with [Paul Pelosi’s] wife” because he was “sick of the level of lies” coming from Washington, D.C. officials.
It wasn’t that I intended to cause him harm, but as you well know, this was a suicide mission. “I’m not going to stand here and do nothing even if it costs me my life,” DePape is quoted as saying in the document.
It is believed that DePape had plans to target further celebrities. According to the investigation, DePape’s targets included Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, as well as Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom and actor Tom Hanks.
