Christie Says He’s Thinking Of Running For President In 2024

Chris Christie, a former governor of New Jersey, responded simply with “yes” when asked whether he was thinking about running for president in 2024.

During his interview on Real Time, Christie, who attempted to secure the Republican nominee for the 2016 presidential election, made his comments. With Bill Maher, who joked that the former governor is “becoming extremely brazen” as a result of the show’s influence. The late-night presenter then inquired as to whether Christie could free the Republican Party from “the Trump cult’s grips.”

Christie stated, “I’d want to see what happens in the elections. “I believe that what I heard in 2016 was that we would win so frequently that we would become weary of winning and request that he stop winning. And in 2018, we lost both the House and the Senate. In 2020, we lost the presidency. Georgia lost two Senate seats in 2020. Losing a lot is a lot. They might wish to return to winning, in my opinion.

The former governor, who was a supporter of the late President Donald Trump, would not say if he would vote for Trump if he decided to run for office again. Christie just laughed and remarked, “Good try,” when asked if he would vote for Trump again after doing so in 2016 and 2020.

Trump and Christie have had far less amicable relations since President Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 election. The former governor has repeatedly urged Trump and the GOP to cease contesting the outcome of the 2020 election. In the aftermath of the FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago, Christie has also criticized Trump, criticizing him for saying that a president may declassify information “simply by thinking about it.”

Though he has made multiple hints since leaving the White House, Trump has not yet officially declared his intention to run for president in 2024.
