Midterms 2022: Dems Organize 400 Locations in 50 States To Protest Support For Abortion

This weekend, liberal organizations are organizing enormous protests in support of abortion rights in more than 400 locations across all 50 states in an effort to energize their supporters for the upcoming midterm elections.

The Women’s March and its partner organizations, including the American Federation of Teachers and Ultraviolet, among others, anticipate that the Women’s Wave campaign will draw hundreds of thousands of attendees.

According to Rachel Carmona, executive director of the Women’s March, women and activists are motivated to support politicians in November who would oppose legislation that would restrict access to abortions.

In a statement, Ms. Carmona stated, “We are approaching the eleventh hour.” For the benefit of all Americans and next generations, we must band together to reclaim our power and guarantee that women have a basic right to their bodily autonomy. That entails showing Republicans and the GOP on [Saturday] that the Women’s Wave is here to stay by coming out in large numbers.

On Capitol Hill’s Folger Park, a demonstration in Washington is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Speakers will include Ms. Carmona as well as officials from the Service Employees International Union, the National Women’s Law Center, and the National Iranian American Council, among others. On Saturday afternoon, the event attendees want to march to a park on Capitol Hill.

Protest organizers who oppose abortion are stepping up their attempts to inspire voters. The Women’s March has a “profoundly incorrect, anti-woman viewpoint,” according to Mallory Carroll, vice president of communications for Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, in favour of abortion.

The SBA Pro-Life America & Women Speak Out PAC field team has been working hard for more than a year to inform voters in crucial swing states about Democrats’ pro-abortion radicalism, according to Ms. Carroll in a statement. As part of our total $78 million cycle budget to advance the pro-life stance in politics and policy, we have given one-on-one talks a priority.

This weekend’s Women’s Wave rallies are anticipated to draw “hundreds of thousands” of protesters, according to the leftist public relations agency Unbendable Media. As of Friday afternoon, according to the Women’s March homepage for its Women’s Wave 2022, more than 17,300 individuals planned to demonstrate this weekend at more than 400 events.

Some of the demonstrations that are scheduled in other places will target politicians or concentrate on securing abortion-related political outcomes. For instance, the Women’s March website refers to the Women’s Wave event that will take place before the University of Florida’s homecoming football game on Saturday as the “National Women’s Liberation Pre-Game Protest Against DeSantis,” a reference to Republican governor Ron DeSantis.

Other demonstrations mentioned in Phoenix and Denver are called the “Womxn’s Wave” and “Womxn’s March Denver,” respectively, and utilise less gender-specific terminology for their Women’s Wave activities.
