Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), who refused to support Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for speaker of the House, came under fire from Fox News personality Sean Hannity.
On Wednesday’s episode of Hannity, the two engaged in a heated conversation. The House decided to adjourn earlier in the evening, and they will try to elect a speaker on a seventh ballot on Thursday. Boebert was one of 20 House Republicans who voted against McCarthy, preventing him from receiving the 218 votes needed to pass.
Earlier in the day, the lawmaker had urged former President Donald Trump to convince McCarthy to quit his candidacy. Hannity aired a comment from her at that time.
He said, “Let me turn the tables, Congresswoman. Kevin McCarthy is up by 202 to 3. Your team has twenty. Isn’t it time for you and your side to pack it in given that he has almost 200 and you have 20 if I’m going to apply your words, your technique, and your math?

Later on in the conversation, Hannity questioned Boebert about whether she and the other holdouts would compromise if they failed to elect a substitute candidate who received 30 votes by Friday.
She retorted, “Kevin McCarthy does not have 218 votes.
The reply from Hannity was, “And you have 20.” “I posed a very precise query to you. If you don’t have 30 by Friday,
She said, “I will not withdraw,” before rambling on about expenditures.

He responded, “With all due respect.” “To be clear, if you only have 30, you won’t quit. However, you’re telling Kevin McCarthy and the 203 supporters of him to leave because they don’t have 218. Do you mean to say that?
Look, it’s clear from tonight’s motion to adjourn that Kevin McCarthy and his backers are weary of the voting process, said Boebert. I’m present for it.
Hannity said to the congresswoman, “I asked you a basic question. “I feel like I’m getting a liberal response,”
Sean, I’m not going to back Kevin McCarthy,” she retorted.
