Michael Jordan Gives A Huge Gift On His 60th Birthday; One Of A Kind!

The NBA legend, who turns 60 on Friday, celebrated his birthday by giving Make-A-Wish America a record-breaking $10 million donation. According to Make-A-Wish, Jordan’s kind donation is the biggest one ever received by an individual.

In a statement, Jordan said, “For the past 34 years, it’s been an honor to partner with Make-A-Wish and help bring a smile and happiness to so many youngsters. It has been very inspiring to see how strong and resilient they have been at such a trying time in their life.

The legendary player for the Chicago Bulls said that he “can’t think of a finer birthday gift than having others join” him in donating to the charity. Jordan wishes that “every youngster” will be able to “feel the magic of having their dream come true” thanks to the donation.

Leslie Motter, president and chief executive of Make-A-Wish America, praised Jordan for his capacity to leave a lasting impact both on and off the court. Everyone is aware of Michael’s accomplishments on the basketball court, but Motter said in a statement that “what he has constantly done off the court when no one is seeing is what makes him a genuine legend for wish families and the larger Make-A-Wish community.”

“The fact that Michael used his birthday to help Make-A-Wish make history demonstrates the strength of his character and his unwavering commitment to improving the lives of kids with life-threatening illnesses. By assisting in the fulfillment of wishes, we seek to inspire the public to continue in his footsteps.”

According to a statement from the organization, Jordan’s $10 million donation will “establish an endowment to give the cash needed to make future dreams for children with critical diseases possible.”

Jordan’s contribution comes only two years after he gave $10 million to build two new health facilities in North Carolina, where he is a native. Novant Health received the money, which it had already received from Jordan in 2017 in the amount of $7 million.

Owner of the Charlotte Hornets, Michael Jordan, said in a statement, “I am very delighted to join with Novant Health once again to expand the Family Clinic model to deliver improved access to important medical services in my hometown. “No matter where they reside or whether they have insurance, everyone should have access to high-quality healthcare.”

It’s very satisfying to be able to give back to the community that has supported me throughout my life, he continued, adding that Wilmington holds a special place in his heart.

Three years after Jordan’s initial donation, Novant Health inaugurated the second Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinic in October.
