King Charles III Praises His Mother, Promotes Son William and Mentions Other Son Harry In Heartfelt Speech

Despite the turmoil surrounding the couple’s criticism and choice to quit the Royal Family, King Charles III mentioned Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in his first statement following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

The new British monarch said in a pre-recorded speech on Friday, “I also want to convey my affection for Harry and Meghan, as they continue to build their life overseas.” He also mentioned new positions for members of his family.

Prince William, the heir apparent, and his wife Kate Middleton were given the titles of Prince and Princess of Wales by Charles. Camilla, Charles’ wife, is currently the queen consort. Also known as the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, William and Kate. The title of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will remain the same.

When the pair talked for a lengthy interview with Oprah and accused the monarchy of racism and cruelty, the rumored conflict between Meghan and Harry and the Royal Family came to light.

After his mother passed away on Thursday at the age of 96, Charles, 73, started in his new position. Naturally, the address paid heartfelt homage to his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

“My beloved mother was an inspiration and an example to me and to everyone in my family,” the King said. And for her love, devotion, leadership, understanding, and example, we owe her the deepest debt any family could ever have.

The King added, “Queen Elizabeth’s was a life well lived, a promise with destiny fulfilled, and she is grieved most bitterly in her death. That pledge of everlasting service I repeat to everyone today.

Along with the collective grief that my entire family is experiencing, King Charles continued, “We also share with so many of you in the United Kingdom, in all the nations where the queen was head of state, in the commonwealth, and across the world, a deep sense of gratitude for the more than 70 years that my mother, as queen, served the people of so many nations.

The same vow made by his mother, Charles promised to rule “throughout the remaining time God provides me to safeguard the fundamental ideals at the core of our nation.”
