After one suspect was taken into custody last week, Moscow, Idaho, Police Chief James Fry stated on Monday that he does not anticipate any other arrests in relation to the fatal stabbings of four University of Idaho students in November.
Fry told ABC News on Saturday, “We think we have our guy, the one who did these killings.”
On Friday, Pennsylvania police detained Bryan Kohberger and charged him with four counts of first-degree murder and felony burglary.
Through DNA evidence and his ownership of a Hyundai Elantra, which was allegedly seen close to the crime scene on the night of the students’ deaths, authorities claimed they were able to connect him to the killings of the students, who were discovered dead in a rental home in Moscow close to campus on Nov. 13.

Neither a murder weapon nor a reason for Kohberger’s claimed involvement in the deaths have been made public by police.
Last week, Kohberger’s lawyer stated that his client is anxious to establish his innocence and would forego an extradition hearing to return to Idaho sooner to face the allegations.
On Sunday, his family also issued a statement in which they stated that they were working with law enforcement and that they preferred to “support his presumption of innocence” to “judge unknown facts and create erroneous conclusions.”
Kohbeger attended the University of Washington’s graduate program and resided in Pullman, Washington, which is close to the Idaho border. He is a PhD candidate in the department of criminal justice and criminology.
The tragedy, which claimed the lives of Xana Kernodle, 20, Ethan Chapin, 21, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, and Madison Mogen shortly before Thanksgiving break, has left the University of Idaho and the Moscow community still in shock.
Steve Goncalves, the father of Goncalves, said on CBS News on Sunday that his family was “relieved” by Khoberger’s arrest.
We haven’t had happiness like this in about seven weeks, he claimed. We are hopeful that they made the proper choice because we haven’t had optimism in a while.
