Did Trump Really “Hint” At Running As A Third Party Candidate Or Did He Just Share An Article?

Donald Trump, a former US president, has hinted that the Republican Party may be in for a disaster by suggesting that he run as a third-party candidate in the 2024 presidential election, splitting the conservative vote.

This week, Trump posted an article link on his social media network, Truth Social, urging him to run for president in 2024 under a third-party ticket if Republican leaders don’t support him. The essay claimed that Republican officials intend to ignore the will of the people by preventing Trump from receiving the party’s presidential nominee. It was released on Tuesday in the conservative publication American Greatness.

The article’s author, Dan Gelernter, stated that they “would rather lose an election to the Democrats, their brothers in crime, than win with Trump.” He stated that, despite the fact that voting a Democrat would be preferable to a candidate from the establishment, doing so would give “the uniparty” dominance and lead to the destruction of the nation.

Do I believe Trump can succeed as a third-party nominee? Gelernter said, “No. Will I support him if he runs as a third-party candidate? Yes, because I’m no longer interested in sustaining this dishonest gravy train.

After losing to Democrat contender Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election, Trump allegedly considered starting his own party in 2021. According to the book “Betrayal: The Final Act of the Trump Show” by ABC News reporter Jonathan Karl, he informed RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel that he was “done” with the party.

According to reports, McDaniel said, “You cannot do that. We will always lose if you do.” You will lose eternally without me, Trump retorted. I don’t care. Republicans have earned this for failing to defend me,

Gelernter claimed that Trump is the Republican voters’ top choice, but recent polling indicates otherwise. According to a USA Today/Suffolk University poll issued earlier this month, Republicans still support Trump’s Make America Great Again policies, but by a margin of nearly 2-to-1 (61%-31%), they want someone else to represent that platform in the 2024 election. According to the same poll, Republican voters favor Florida Governor Ron DeSantis over Trump by a 56-33 majority.
