A spokesman for the actor said that Tom Sizemore, who is 61 years old, was hospitalized with a brain aneurysm and was in critical condition. According to the Associated Press, the “Saving Private Ryan” actor had the aneurysm on Saturday at 2 a.m. at his Los Angeles home. He was in the intensive care unit as of Sunday morning, Charles Lago, his attorney, said, adding that it was a “wait and see situation.”
The roles that Sizemore played in important motion pictures including “Saving Private Ryan,” “True Romance,” and “Black Hawk Down” are well remembered. He played Sgt. Horvath in the 1998 war drama “Saving Private Ryan,” which Tom Hanks and Matt Damon also starred in.

In 2003, Sizemore was found guilty of domestic violence after his girlfriend Heidi Fleiss said he hit her. He pleaded not guilty to domestic violence charges.
After he was arrested in 2009 on the same charge, he was arrested again in 2011 on the same charge. Also, he has been arrested before on suspicion of selling or transporting a banned substance, and in 2006, he pleaded “no contest” to taking methamphetamine outside a Bakersfield motel.
Sizemore has spoken out frequently about his battle with addiction and said in 2011 that he would pen a novel about his “substance misuse issues.” In 2013, he published his book, “By Some Miracle, I Made It Out of There.”
According to Sizemore in 2011, “the fact that I’ve been clean for more than two years and that I’m acting as much as I did before illustrates that people can overcome barriers even when they’re sure they can’t.”
