Paul Ryan Tells CNN Audience: Trump Is A Proven Loser

According to Paul Ryan, a former member of the House of Representatives for the Republican Party, Donald Trump is a “proven failure” who will most likely not be on the ballot for the general election in 2024. During an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, the former speaker of the House and a previous contender for vice president stated that Donald Trump is a hindrance to the Republican Party and that he believes there is a path forward that does not involve the polarizing politician.

“A couple of things: his health is rapidly declining. He has a track record of failure “Ryan, 52, remarked. “He cost us the House in 2018, he cost us the White House in 2020, and he cost us the Senate time and time again; I believe that we all are aware of this, and I believe that we are all ready to move on from Trump. In all honesty, I believe that to be the situation.”After that, Ryan continued by saying, “Frankly, I can’t imagine him gaining the nomination.”

The 54th Speaker of the House, who lasted from 2015 until 2019, has stated that he believes the prolonged election of new Speaker Kevin McCarthy to be a beneficial development for the party. He served in that role from 2015 until 2019.

“The thing that I take solace in with all the machinations you saw last week,” he said, “is that the majority of that wasn’t personal; the majority of that was around fiscal responsibility; the majority of that was about a concern about spending, inflation, and debt — that’s great.” “The thing that I take solace in with all the machinations you saw last week,” he said.

Ryan stated that even while he does not believe that “brinkmanship” is an effective way to overcome squabbles inside a party, the Republicans are headed in the right path.

He stated that Republicans have finally re-established themselves as the party of limited government and fiscal restraint. “That is the one positive thing that I can take away from all of this strange things,” I said.

It has been one week since McCarthy was selected as the new speaker of the House following a record-setting 15 rounds of voting, and now Ryan has shared his thoughts on the current state of his party.

McCarthy did not have the requisite majority vote going into the election for House Speaker; yet, he did not renounce his candidacy, reportedly telling the House Republican Conference before the first vote, “I’m not going to back down.” “I am deserving of this position. We have worked hard for this majority, and with the grace of God, we are going to take victory tonight.”

It was the first time since 1923 that nobody won the election for House Speaker on the first try. This indicates that there is intense dissension within the Republican Party, which should have had an easy time electing a speaker as the majority party.

McCarthy did not receive sufficient votes during the 14th round of voting, which prompted them to vote on adjournment until Monday. However, a last scramble led to a 15th round of voting, and during that round, McCarthy secured the position of speaker of the house early on the morning of the previous Saturday.

Last week, when there was no clear front-runner in the contest for speaker of the House, Joe Biden referred to the situation as “a little embarrassing.”

The comments made by Biden came as he was speaking with reporters on the previous Wednesday. He explained that “the fight over the Speaker… that’s not my problem,” and he added, “I just think it’s a little embarrassing that it’s taking so long,” as reported by Politico. Biden’s comments were made public on Thursday. Biden also stated that “the rest of the world is looking” at the situation.
